How to use CoachesCalling.com.
Students
· Register as a STUDENT Enter the information that is asked for. * fields are required.
· Remember this information will not be published on the internet for all to see. It will only be shown to those individuals who have registered as college coaches. We have a process in place to verify the identity of those individuals who register as coaches and counselors.
· Enter your Academic Information, Some of the more selective colleges will want to see what your academic profile looks like. CoachesCalling.com asks you about your Grades, Test Scores, Courses Taken, Class Rank etc. You can fill in as much or as little as you choose to . Remember that every field you fill in is searchable by the College coaches so you don’t want to leave anything out.
· When you have completed the Academic information you can request that your guidance counselor verify that the information is correct. If your counselor does verify the information that will help the college coaches filter the profiles between those profiles that have been verified and those that have not. Your counselor will be notified via email and we will keep you updated on the verification process. We will send your request three times over three days and if your counselor does not verify the information we will let you know that that process has failed and you can reach out to your counselor and see why they did not respond.
· Next you will want to enter your sports stats, You will notice that some of the fields are calculated for you so you can use CoachesCalling.com to keep you stats up to date on a game by game basis. We tried to capture all the pertinent statistics but if you have any suggestions let us know at admin@coachescalling.com. You will notice that we have a page for each year , Freshman , Sophomore, Junior and Senior year as well as a Career page. You can’t edit the Career page since it is a tabulation of the pages from the previous years
o The College Coaches can search by Career Stats alone if they choose to and again every field is searchable so the College Coaches can find you by any single specific attribute. We will let you know which coaches have looked at your profile with the upgraded membership. (49.95/yr)
o You can also select multiple sports and multiple positions, each one will create a separate profile to highlight your accomplishments at that position. As you did with the academic profile you will want to “Publish” the sports profile to you High School coach for them to verify. You can publish it every time you update it or you can do it periodically if you choose .
o You can also ask for a letter of recommendation from the coach just by clicking on the “Thumbs up “ tab on the profile screen.
o There is also a section to talk about your travel or club teams and a place to enter that teams web site. The College coaches have a calendar on their side that will allow them to add your event to their recruiting schedule and allow them to keep all their recruiting information in one place and be able to access it on the internet while they are on the road.
o College Preferences is where you can compile your Top 10 or Top 20 list of schools , each school appears sorted by state. The school names are links to that particular schools website where you can research the school the admission requirements and get information about their teams as well as coaches email addresses. We can let the coaches know which students have selected their school in the top 10 or 20 if the coach chooses to use that filter.
o My Media is where you can post your video, or post a link if your video is hosted somewhere else. Also you can post any newspaper article or a link to articles published about your team or your personal accomplishments or recognition . You can update this everyday if you want to and keep the coaches that are tracking you , up to date on how you are doing.
o The coaches will create a “Watch list” from the profiles they have looked at. Every time you update your profile they are notified that you have new information for them and they can look at the new information as you post it.
o You can send and receive messages from within CoachesCalling.com when you are communicating with the college coaches.
o There is a “Status” tab that lets you alert the College Coaches when you have made a verbal commitment to a school or when you have signed a NLI and want your name to be removed from any future searches as well as any watch list your name may be on.
High School Coaches
o More than likely you will be asked to register via an email request from one of your players. Simply fill out the registration as a HIGH SCHOOL COACH and expect someone from CoachesCalling.com to contact you or your school simply to verify your information. We do this to protect the privacy of our students and ensure that the information we supply to the College coaches is accurate.
o You have the option to reject the request and you can pass along any comments you have to the college coach. Your comments are not viewed by the student unless the college coach should choose to share them.
o Use your best judgment when verifying the information presented to you. We expect that it be reasonably accurate , it will be used by the college coaches to determine if they would like to know more about this student and possibly recruit them for their school.
o We will send you three requests over three days. If you do not respond we will notify the student that you did not respond and the request has been terminated. They will probably contact you at that point.
o The purpose of the verification is to separate this student's profile from other unverified profiles. The college coaches can filter their searches by profiles that are verified and unverified. It is our attempt to provide some sort of QC of the information presented for the college coaches.
Guidance Counselors
o More than likely you will have received an email from one of your students asking you to verify their profile on CoachesCalling.com. Register as a GUIDANCE COUNSELOR. We ask that you verify that the academic info is reasonably accurate and the student is known to you and attends your school.
o Simply complete the registration form and expect a call or contact from someone at CoachesCalling.com . We do this to protect the privacy of our student registrants and to ensure that the information we provide to the College Coaches is accurate.
o The purpose of the verification is to separate this student's profile from other unverified profiles. The college coaches can filter their searches by profiles that are verified and unverified. It is our attempt to provide some sort of QC of the information presented for the college coaches.
o You have the option to reject the request as well as a place to make any comments about the student. The comments will not be seen by the student unless the college coach shares them. You may get multiple requests from an individual student as they can update their profile each time the take or re-take a test or get their report card.
o You will get three notifications over three days , if you fail to respond after the third day the request will be terminated and the student notified.
College Coaches
o You will be asked to complete a registration form. Register as a COLLEGE COACH.
o Expect a contact from someone at CoacheCalling.com to verify your information. We do this verification to protect the privacy of our student registrants.
o Once your registration has been activated you will be able to search for profiles by any number of specific criteria.
o Academic Credentials, sports stats , travel team , Height weight, you name it. We have a fairly comprehensive database of individual statistics that you can search on.
o Once you have results from your search you can build a “watch-List” of these profiles and keep track of them as the season progresses.
o When you have added a prospective student athlete to your watch list CoachesCalling.com will notify you any time that that students profile is updated or edited. We’ll tell you what has changed. We will also tell you when the status of the prospective student athlete has changed. If they have made a verbal commitment or signed a NLI and they update their status on their profile page CoachesCalling.com will notify you so you can make adjustments to your watch list.
o You can also rate each profile and assign a priority to keep all of your recruiting information in one place.
o You can send them an email or questionnaire and look at their videos, or even look at their travel or club team information.
o Load their tournament and travel showcase info into your calendar and keep your notes and information about your recruits all in one place.
o You will be able to review all of the specific information about your recruits in a single easy to use and manage place.
